Discount Robot Vacuums and Mops in Australia

Self-emptying, self-washing and vacuum-only robots

Robot vacuums crossed the line from gadget to appliance when docks started emptying the bin and washing the mop pads. That single change is what decides whether the robot still runs in month six or sits in a cupboard, because a robot you have to empty every second day is a chore with a battery in it. Australian homes add two specific complications. Most have hard floors through the living areas with rugs over the top, so the mop needs to lift automatically on carpet; and older houses are full of raised thresholds and timber trims that stop a robot at the bathroom door.

Suction figures in pascals get quoted heavily and mean less than the marketing suggests — brush design, edge reach and obstacle avoidance matter more in practice. A single tangled brush roll on long hair or a robot that quietly refuses to enter one room ruins the whole proposition. Where you have a dog, tiles or polished concrete, a continuously rinsed roller mop is a genuine step up because it never puts dirty water back on the floor. Where you have deep carpet and fine dust, raw suction and HEPA filtration matter more than mopping. Every robot here is Australian stock with local warranty and app support, includes free insured delivery, and is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee so you can test it against your own floors.

Robot vacuums — frequently asked questions

Will a robot vacuum handle rugs and hard floors in the same run?

Yes, provided it lifts or detaches the mop on carpet. Every hybrid model we stock detects carpet and raises the mop automatically, and you can also mark rug zones as mop-free in the app.

Can a robot vacuum climb the thresholds in an older Australian home?

Most robots manage 20 to 22 mm. If your doorways have raised timber trims taller than that, choose a model with a lifting chassis such as the Roborock Qrevo Curv, which climbs up to 40 mm.

How often do I need to buy consumables?

Expect a dust bag every six to eight weeks, a filter every three to six months, mop pads every six months and a brush roll annually. We stock Australian-supplied genuine consumables for every model we sell.

Do the apps work properly in Australia?

Yes. All models we stock are Australian releases with local server regions, Australian app store availability, and support for Google Home or Amazon Alexa where advertised.

Robot vacuums buyer guide

What actually matters in a robot vacuum

In order: the dock, the brush design, obstacle avoidance, then suction. A dock that empties, washes with hot water and dries the pads removes almost all of the maintenance. An anti-tangle brush determines whether you cut hair off a roller each week. Camera-based obstacle avoidance stops the robot eating charging cables and, more importantly, avoids the single incident every pet owner fears.

Suction above about 8,000 pascals makes very little practical difference on hard floors and only a modest one on low-pile carpet. Treat very high pascal claims as a tie-breaker, not a reason to choose.

Mopping systems compared

Spinning pads scrub well but recirculate water within a room unless the dock washes them mid-run. Roller mops rinse continuously and scrape the water off, so they lift more grime and leave floors drier — the best option for tile and polished concrete. Steam systems sanitise pads at high temperature in the dock, which is worth having in a household with toddlers or pets.

Setting it up so it keeps working

Map the house once with everything off the floor, then name rooms and set no-go zones around pet bowls, cable runs and floor-length curtains. Schedule the run for when nobody is home. Keep the dock on hard floor against a wall with half a metre of clearance either side, and place it near a power point you will not need for anything else.
