Discount Home Appliances in Australia

Fridges, dishwashers, laundry, ovens and cooktops

Appliances are the one category where the purchase price tells you least about the total cost. An Australian energy label states annual consumption in kilowatt-hours, and at current residential rates of roughly 33 cents per kilowatt-hour the difference between a 3-star and a 5-star dishwasher is well over a thousand dollars across a fifteen-year life. Heat pump dryers cost about a third as much to run as vented ones. Water star ratings matter just as much in cities with usage-based billing. We publish the star ratings and annual figures on every product page so you can compare running costs rather than just the sticker.

The second thing to check before you order is fit and services. Measure the cabinetry cut-out, the doorway the appliance has to pass through, and the clearance for the door or drawer to open fully — a 912 millimetre wide French door fridge needs a 960 millimetre doorway. Confirm whether your kitchen has the plumbing for an ice and water dispenser, and whether an oven or induction cooktop needs a dedicated hardwired circuit installed by a licensed Australian electrician. We list cut-out dimensions and electrical requirements on every page, and we can arrange installation and old appliance removal in most metropolitan postcodes. All appliances are Australian models with local warranties, spare parts support and free insured delivery.

Appliances — frequently asked questions

Do you install appliances?

We can arrange installation in most metropolitan postcodes, including plumbed fridges, dishwashers and laundry. Hardwired ovens and induction cooktops must be installed by a licensed Australian electrician, which we can also arrange — ask for a quote with your postcode.

Will it fit through my door?

Check the appliance width against your narrowest doorway and add 40 to 50 millimetres. Our product pages list both the appliance dimensions and the doorway clearance needed. Our delivery team will tell you on the day if a door needs to come off its hinges.

How do I compare running costs?

Use the annual kWh figure from the energy label and multiply by your electricity rate — roughly 33 cents per kWh in most of Australia in 2026. We publish that figure on every appliance page along with the star rating.

Do you take away my old appliance?

Yes. Add removal and responsible recycling at checkout, and we take the old appliance when we deliver the new one, in most metropolitan areas.

What warranty applies?

The full Australian manufacturer warranty, plus extended compressor or motor warranties where the manufacturer offers them (10 years on several fridges and washers). Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition and cannot be excluded.

Appliances buyer guide

Measure before you compare

Write down four numbers: the cabinetry cut-out (height, width, depth), the appliance space including clearance for airflow, the narrowest doorway on the delivery path, and the swing space needed for the door or drawer to open. Most disappointing appliance purchases in Australia are fitting problems rather than performance problems.

Reading Australian energy and water labels

Energy labels show stars and annual kWh for a standard usage pattern. More stars is better, and the kWh figure lets you compare directly across brands. Multiply by your rate for annual dollars. Water labels work the same way with litres per cycle, which matters most in cities that bill by consumption. Heat pump dryers and induction cooktops are the two upgrades with the fastest payback.

Warranty, servicing and consumer rights

Premium appliance brands maintain Australian service networks and hold spare parts for a decade or more — the reason a Miele dishwasher costs more than a supermarket one is not just the wash. Under the Australian Consumer Law, a major appliance must last a reasonable time given its price, and you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund for a major failure even after the manufacturer's warranty ends. Keep your tax invoice; it is your proof of purchase for both.
